I wanted to ad an update to this thread, because I lurked through it about a year ago and took the plunge with Bonus(wish there has been more info in this thread). It's been overwhelmingly positive.

I moved from out of state and started with Bonus pretty much totally blind. Recruiter got me in for usual paperwork and UA. They have a lady recruiting now, she didn't hire me but she is nice and professional, and she does some other tasks so she knows most of what's going on. Frank is still in safety and you'll talk to him as well-he's been in the industry for a long time and I've only had positive experiences with him.

Trucks are IH Eagles for government dry account, and mostly freight liner Columbias for Perdue, with some Pro Stars that mainly go to drivers based out of SC. There's some 379's and they've been buying Cascadias and Volvos lately. Mix of paper and elogs. All are very well maintained- 130,000 + miles and I've yet to have a major breakdown. I know they have some O/O's, but they may be grandfathered in. My truck has high miles and it runs so well I'm going to ask if I can buy it and run it myself. All trucks have APU's

I'm on Perdue fleet, started at .38 with a .02 raise after six months. I'd taken some time off and came in with the minimum acceptable experience. I run my hours out every week, generally getting 3K+ and bringing home 1,000-1200 after CS and taxes. Medical is like $50 a week.

Running on Perdue is mainly up the I-95 corridor, with some runs up 85 and the southern parts of 75. On occasion I've gotten runs to Buffalo, Chicago, Wisconsin and up to Maine. Typically we stay south of NJ, 2 deliveries in NYC so far. Run all the way down to Miami. Occasional loads with 1 stop, rare loads with 2. Stop pay is $15. If you wind up out somewhere far like those states, they're going to DH you back to a Perdue plant immediately. Plants are in DE, MD, VA, and TN, but by far most of our loads come out of Dillon, SC and Perry, GA. I've never sat waiting for loads here.

My don't know how long ago, but dispatch was changed over here and all the old hands I talk to say it's made a huge difference. Most of the guys I talk to here have over 5 years. Everything here is common sense. If you want to run and your not a pain, you're gonna run. All the day shift dispatchers are former drivers, and one of the 2 night ones is too. Owners are hands on and not afraid to work-I've seen them start earlier and stay longer than anyone else. One of them even works on the trucks.

Hometime is a day for every week out, 2-3 week minimum. Accurate hometime is great-you put in for time off, they ask you what day to empty out and you deliver in Orlando that day. They have tons of deliveries in Orlando, and I've never missed a HT date. I'm assuming SC is the same. They have car parking at the shop and they want you leave your truck there during HT, same in SC.

Quarterly bonus(400 +/-) and holiday parties in FL and SC.

Not sure what else someone could want to know, but if you want to know more PM me.

As someone accused earlier, I'm definitely not a recruiter, and I've intentionally excluded my info so I'm not getting anything except helping people with info I wish I'd had before I started. If my writing wasn't poor enough, send me a phone # and I'll verify.

Hey jw do u still have to stand on the docks while Perdue loads n count it? Also still get charged for damages? My parents live less then 5mins from the sorrento office. And my pop looked at them few years back but those things made him go esle where.. Cause they said where ever they delivered you couldn't be on the docks but u would foot the bill for any shorts or damages. Which I thought was weird for a company driver

I don't even think we're allowed on the docks at Perdue anymore, definitely don't have to count it I've had shortage and damages a few times and you report it to Perdue than dispatch. I've never been charged for it, and most have been either a wrong box or issues with product dates, and a few squished boxes.

I I do think thy had a policy that drivers are responsible for the first $1k of damage in an accident.
