It can only be 5'' in width and 7'' in depth. what CB should i get?? i was lookin at the small cobra 19 or theirs a uniden Pro520XL or the midland. ive heard not so good things about the cobra 19, i do know the older 19 plus was horrable, i dont know anything about those new plastic ones. you are pretty much stuck with a compact radio and compact radios arnt going to be able to have too much done to them, and i wouldent focus on the radio since your stuck with a compact one, make sure your antenna system is great.

As long as you don't play with the internals. The Cobra 19 will do fine.

You might want to pop for a noise cancelling mic though.

it depends you want metal or fiberglass? if you really want to go with one thats meant to get banged around a lout, go with a wilson Flex antenna, its a thin fiberglass antenna that ... flex. ive seen them on some wranglers if also seen them on a lot of dump trucks that dumped asphalt for us when their wasnt always clearance. i myself use dual wilson silverloads on my 91 t-15 jimmy they get banged around and i did need to replace a connector once cuz i hit something hard, and it bent, but flex's you wont need to worry about that, or get what ever you want and some heavy duty springs....

    Forget the Cobra....forget the Uniden....get the Magnum 257. It's as small as the Uniden 520 Pro....and 5X better. Take a look here to see..... http://cbradiomagazine.com/March 2007/Magnum 257 Review.htm

You can even get a small but powerful amp to hook to it and you will be the ruler of the trails.......You can find and excellent amp here.....http://cgi.ebay.com/KL-300-P-LINEAR...ryZ48700QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

It's the KL-300P by KLV Amps in Italy. I have one on my Jeep.....It's small....and it ROCKS!!!

As far as antenna.....I have a Wilson "Super Flex" for obvious reasons. It's 3' and tuneable.

Ive got a Midland 1001Z in my CJ7. Nice small radio, and for only $40 if it gets damaged, Im only out a little bit of $$.

And Ill 3rd the Wilson "Super Flex", I have beat the crap out of this antenna, and it has yet to let me down. Heck, I even put one of these on my Beretta GT.....

Best antenna is always going to be 102" Stainless Steel Whip.. especially for off road.. simply connect it to the rear bumper and tie the top down to the front..
