Good barbecue truck stops/truck friendly.

Curtis' Barbecue, Putney VT. I91 and Hwy 5

 

Texas BBQ Corral in Mount Vernon, Texas, has truck parking. It is worth the walk from the Cefco or Love's (if you can find a space there). It is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

JD's Rib Shack is right next to the Flying J in Texarkana. It is closed on Sundays.

Werner's Smokehouse BBQ Restaurant is a short walk from TA in Jeffersonville, Ohio.

Hog Wild Pig Crazy Bar-Bq is on the access road for the Love's in Sparta, Kentucky. You can't beat a brisket sandwich with chips and a pickle for $6 (tax included).

Although Norman's 44 Restaurant in Prescott is not a barbecue restaurant, it does have good ribs. They have truck parking, although it is certainly worth the walk from the TA.

Although I have not been there myself, I have heard good things about the barbecue restaurant near the Pilot in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.

 

Mostly what I've found is a lot of mediocre BBQ ... The only 2 that I've found that I make point of stopping for is KDs in Midland TX exit 138 and Bodacious across I20 from the Pilot in Tyler, TX

Dry, devoid of smoke ...

Fair for a chain ... a good alternative to burgers for lunch.

Slightly better than a McRib ... but for the price a McRib is a better value.

Seriously? Absolute worst BBQ I've had. They should be shut down for using lumber scraps to smoke with.

 

I-40 exit 87 in Tennessee, the little trailer across the street from Love's has a spicy bbq sandwich that promises not to disappoint. Regular size for $5, large for $6. They also have ribs, dogs and a country sausage that sells out quickly in the mornings. You'll hear the girls on the cb when you get close. Truck parking and friendly staff!

 

I can't believe no one has mentioned the Tennessean in Cornersville TN I-65 x22. It is a full service independent truckstop/restaurant with killer BBQ. And if you don't have time to sit down and eat, they've always got hot and ready pork sandwiches for 2 for $5.

 

The girls are cute. The sauce is good, nothing special about the BBQ, but good value for the price ... Oh and the girls are cute.

 

I'm glad you pointed that out. I wanted to, but didn't want to appear as a dirty ol' man. They are cute, and sweet too. Good ol Southern hospitality that makes me think of home. I always look forward to a stop there.

 

Double Nickle Truck Stop in Hayti, Missouri next to the pilot on I55 xt19, also try Riders BBQ & Hot Sausage in Jarrell, Texas a block behind the Flying J in a strip mall is where it's located I35 xt275 southbound

Big Daddys BBQ In Jackson Ga by the Truck Stop will deliver and always on the radio. Has a dirt parking lot big enough for about 30 trucks.
