That's news to me. Only drivers who are grandfathered in since the policy was changed several years ago may have pets unless they are service animals.

No.
Lease a truck . Yes.
And a BTW .
I encountered a company driver (not Swift ) who was in the process of abandoning his dog at a truck stop because some scumbag snitched him out and he'd been ordered to immediately and without stopping report to his nearby terminal . If he showed up with the dog he'd have been fired .
So I took his little truck trained dog who didn't have a name and after a half day named her PITA . Two weeks later , after I figured out this mutt was not only pregnant but trained to eat and shed and piss in my truck five minutes after I spent an hour getting her to go , that she liked to chase rabbits . For miles . For hours . The happiest time I spent with this dog was waving goodnight after she topped the third hill a half mile away in Paris, TX while thinking she'd make a great kids dog . If the coyotes don't get her first .
Before you jump to the conclusion I'm a complete ####### which I am proud to say I am you also need to understand I have spent my life being owned by a succession of great and beloved dogs. The time I've been on the road is the first time in my life I have been without a dog and I cannot begin to tell you how much I miss that . I'm just not sure I can give a dog a good life on the road and until I can answer that I'll stay solo. Any dog person knows its not about us , its about them .Last edited: Feb 1, 2015

That's funny; a coyote probably would get her; they breed with dogs. It's more common than many people realize. The pups are called "coydog." Lots of them in Tennessee where I'm from and also they're all over America anywhere coyotes are. For anyone that doesn't believe this, Google : coydogLeftnut Thanks this.
