I cannot think of any reason you will need more than 1 towel. You use your own when at a terminal, but not on the road, unless you want too.

I would suggest a mid weight sleeping bag as apposed to sheets and blankets. It is just easier. You may want a sheet to cover the mattress, but otherwise when with a trainer the bag is better. You really are not supposed to be on the top bunk when the truck is moving, so that way you can sleep in the bag on the lower bunk (not on your trainers sheets).

Temps are starting to come down, but you will still need a jacket and some long pants in many parts of the country.

I am bringing the sleeping bag, cause its on the list and I have one. I pretty much covered the whole list and squeezed in two towels, the sleeping bag is separate so I could get a sheet in there. I have colapseable luggage; as to not take up too much room in some trainer's truck. See ya's on the road.

I use my own Towels at truck stops, I just don't like the thought of using a towel that hundreds of others have used :biggrin_25511:.
JJ stayed at the Econo Lodge about 15 minutes from the Terminal.

    .....

    Hello to Jess - JJ,

Still making a final decision, but I think that I will be joining CRSI for training in June :biggrin_25520: ..... so, mention of the Econo Lodge caught my eye.

Was staying there a matter of choice, or just because there was not any room left at the CRSI "Hilton" ?? Does the shuttle to and from local shopping work out OK ?? How is the coffee from the on-site convenience store or restaurant ??

    Thanks .........

John stayed at the Terminal when he trained, I think he stayed at the econo Lodge when he Upgraded, Yep the rooms at the Terminal are small but from what John said there not to bad. The Shuttle will take you to Wally world, it drops you of and then comes back an hr later.
The store there is good, Food is good and Coffee is excellent.
There is a coffee maker close to the Laundry I'm not sure if they supply coffee and filters. I think the cafe at the Terminal shuts at 5:00PM.

    6pak4two ...

Still need to iron out some details on my end on Tuesday 5/27. If everything comes together as I hope that it will, I will be starting Monday 02 June.

Are you headed that way as well ??

I'm glad to hear miles are good as I will com'n back to my first JOB and Central has been kinnda enough to welcome me back:biggrin_255:
Kinnda sucks when I had my CLD for so long let it go 7 years ago:biggrin_2552: so off to school I go but I'll be back soon..............................[/quote]

Looks like we were in the same boat. I had not driven in six years and i too had to go thru the school again. I am glad i did because it gave me a chance to get back up to speed on the industry. I think it retraining made me even a better driver than i was before. Salt lake has some really good tough trainers and is definitely not a cdl mill. It is very fast paced more for guys like us and beginners who pick up quick on the training. JJ Ranch
