We bring rigs in and out of sites. We have high centered the lowboys, powered out on the hills and even got buried.

Hell, I would at least give him the GPS coordinates for the truck as I started walking toward the state highway...

BTW, I don't think anyone uses chains in Texas. No truck I have driven out there has had a set on board. -
The way I see it, if I want to be responsible for the expenses involved with owning a trucking business, I'll get a truck. If I'm driving some one else's truck...the cash flow is going to be one direction. One deduction for something like that would be the last. In fact, just the mention of that deduction would have me looking.

If you didn't sign any paper work that says you would pay for it,they are out of luck and if they do take it out of your pay without you signing anything you can take it to the labor board or sue them where you can get even more money. When your signing paper work when you start working somewhere always check what you're signing. If you see something you don't like just take it out of the paper work and put it in your pocket, because they will most of the time making sure you sign paper work but they don't count the pages.

The first thing I signed during training was an agreement to pay them back for the training expenses should I quit or be let go prior to the first 90 days of employment. I know that didn't sit too well with me and was my first clue as to their nature here. I will probably be looking to get something local in the Dallas area ASAP but the money's too good here and I need to recoup some of my investment in this 5th wheel before moving on. I do know that the recent slow down has a lot of companies re-arranging their pay scales. Enterprise is going hourly if they have not already. We haven't had a percentage increase since they have been hauling crude at this company(two years almost). LPC has been bought out and their future is subject to change. It looks like there's still plenty of crude hauling work around it's just shifting in the employer's favor as far as pay scale goes....for now.

Thanks for the explanation, I've never done oil field work, have been on roads made just for access to construction before, but we have only called them access roads

Enterprise pays around 30 an hour with ot after 55. Better than %, don't know how long it will stay.

Never saw a set of chains in LA either over the course of 3 years hauling crude there.
