I'm purchasing a truck in Dallas TX and bringing it back to Los Angeles CA. It's about 1500 miles so I want to take someone with a CDL with me too expedite the trip back home but I don't know how much I should pay the other person, so I'd appreciate your guy's input

1500 miles @.40cpm =$600 but its also 2 to 2 and a half days of driving depending on how fast you travel
1500 miles @ 65 mph =23 hours of drive time and 1500 miles @70 mph=21.50 hours of drive time

or you can go with a cheaper pay per mile its up to you really maybe .37cpm or you can pay a flat rate of 1000

I would try and find a friend who would cut me a deal on the price

Or $15 hour at 11 hours a day is $165 ×2=330 but i dont know how yall the getting out there by plane, driving or what you didnt specify 1500 miles up and back is almost 3000 miles total trip so you would multiply it by the total hours or miles

    Hope this helps

I apologize for the lack of details, yes we would fly out to TX and drive 1500 miles back home to Los Angeles. I would drive the first11 hours and then the other person and I wild then drive the last couple of hours

That is true. I just wanted to get home quicker, and since I would be coming back bobtail I figured it would take a little longer since it's not recommended to drive so fast bobtail

BDP has it right, Ben. Your expenses will be a lot more than your gains. If you divide the expense, let's say $800 for the additional driver, by the hours the trip will take, 22, you get an unacceptable number, $36/hr. Or this way: Bigdogpile remarks you'll only gain 10 hours? $800/10 means you'd pay $80/hr for those 10 hours. I would never do that, myself, not unless there was a large lollipop on the other end. One nice stop somewhere, you could treat yourself like a visiting prince for that much money, and cruise into LA with money in your pocket and a smile on your face.
