I just got home from work... what a great bunch of responses! Darn nice people on this forum. Tater Tot, you are my hero (heroine)... you want to change careers and make more money, you figure out something that will work, you make a plan and you are going after it... nothing but respect.
All good Forums are excellent sources of information, but at first glance this forum appears to be something special. Smart people, nice people, people who will help those that help themselves. Thanks for the welcoming responses to my first post... you will see me here more. Lot's of reading and research to do!

Any other key documents I will need? I have a current passport, drivers license, credit cards... hell, I have a Permanent Visa to live in Mexico! -
Depending on when your birth certificate was issued you may need a new copy, mine from New Jersey did not have a serial number on it, so as stupid as it sounds, I had to get a certified copy from New Jersey with a serial number. All they did was copy my original from the microfilm and print it on a piece of paper with a serial number and raised seal. TWIC stands for Transportation Worker Identification Credential and is a joke but is required by companies that frequent the ports. The background check is similar to the Haz-mat so you will need all the same things for both, which used to be able to be combined but I am not sure now.
billder99 Thanks this. -
