I beat it up pretty well. If it comes out of that magnet mount on its own, I think you just crashed into something. However, you wouldn't want to run into it with your hip turning around to get to the sleeper if you had it console-mounted. Or like, reaching across the dash to get something and run your arm into it. I haven't hit railroad tracks at 60 mph in a cab-over with it yet (but that may do it.)
P.S. Mark is in North Carolina. But don't tell his neighbors.double yellow Thanks this. -
I picked one up the other day. I have no qualms about the mount. I haven't seen that stout of a set of rare earth magnets attached to a product in a long while. My only issue is that the gps program tends to hang up and freeze. It tends to do that most often if I try and zoom in/out too soon after the program starts, or I try and switch between the gps program and the dashcam program. It is seemingly random otherwise. Another thing i've noticed is that it tends to drop the wifi connection often for some reason. Irritating at times.

The Hang/freeze is being worked on (same issue as the TND), go to preference/route/Junction view distance - toggle left to turn off. RM is close to a fix on this. It requires a lot of testing as it does not appear often.
Make sure it has GPS, this can be checked via an app, hit the middle button at the bottom to bring you to the Home Page, hit the 9 squares in the upper right, look for GPS Test.
As far as Wi-Fi, this is hot spotted back to your device. Again go to Apps/settings/Wi-Fi, click on this, then in the upper right click on the 3 dots/advance and then click on avoid poor connections.
Wi-Fi is not needed to run the Truck GPS.
Thanks,

I'm about to pick one of these tablets up as well.. Think this is a great product
Mark Kling Thanks this. -
1st real kvetch, my 720 has much easier to see route markings, IE bigger and easier to see, at a glance, the 720's marks (i495 etc) are about double the size of the tablet version

Are you talking about the Road shield icons on the split Junction View or ?
-
Is it running of the tablets battery or is it plugged in while mounted?
-
I have neighbors?

The power cord goes into the "splice" and the table is then magnetically attached to this splice. It draws the power from the splice. Once you take if off the splice it will be on battery power unless you plug in a power cord. You have an Micro USB for power and a connector for a rear view camera.
