The trucking industries and professional comments are great thanks next time i will turn on my flashers and take out my tape measure and see if i have Clarence. Thanks for your professional opinion . If city obeyed all regulations of placing the height of the clearance there would be less accident or damage to trailers .This page and comments as perfection of never having a mistake thank you all.

That's a very good plan. It stinks that it happened but at least you learned something from it.

Why would they drive 50 miles to bring you tools, to fix your screwup? Or am I missing something?

While it is true that the longer you're out here the shorter the odds something might go awry...( for most of yall anyway lol)& maybe(but prolly not)something bad might even happen to moi...So I'll give the OP that point....BUT....the big difference is....IF it does happen....it will Be...wait for it........

    MY FAULT....not my GPS...not my dispatcher...not my mommy....not the bridge....but MINE&you'll hear it from ME first....yup I ###### up.
And funny thing is...at least IMHO when someone messes up&immediately fesses up:& responsibility
People seem to have a whole lot easier time helpin that person out....:)

    But whadda I know

If a bridge is not marked you assume your truck won't fit. At that point you inch close to the bridge and visually see if you have clearance. It's not brain surgery. Where is this bridge by the way?

And what were they supposed to bring you the tools for? You think you can fix a tin canned trailer with duct tape and a hammer on the side of the road?:dontknow:

Man up, learn from your mistake, and move on. Chicago has no shortage of trucking jobs. Someone from Elk Grove Village or Bensenville will hire you.

When I was a kid (I think it was smokey and the Bandit) they let the air out of the tires and made in through the tunnel or under the bridge. We got a long way to go and a short time to get there. Go Bandit! GO

First try dumping the air bags. Easier than pumping up tyres.

Remember this is the not my fault Gen.
I have made mistakes in life and owned up to them.
    Plain and simple.
Yep I even hit a bridge once... Admitted to some of the blame and took the rap on it.
As for the money end of things for this said driver, loke I stated before, I do not know the full details.
But when going to work for a new carrier, You would think they would ask about advances and payroll dates before hiring on and taking a job.
Years ago I pulled for an outfit that only gave you a fuel card. No advances. Knew that prior to signing on.
    Worked around that issue...
