12.7 detroit cel

    I have a 93 KW with 12.7 Detroit. Cel came on today, can any tell me how to pull the codes? Everything seems to running fine, but what I have noticed is that when the boost guage gets to 5 lbs the cel comes on and stays on. When the boost drops below 5 for 15 or 20 seconds the light goes out and stays out until it goes up again.

    Push the shutdown override switch and it will flash 2 digit codes. Red light will flash active codes, amber light will flash stored/inactive codes.

    That is what I thought but the only switch that I have been able to locate is a push button behind the terminal to plug in the computer. pushed it with the key on and off no response. If there is another switch Im not sure where it is.

    On my Detroit the brake has to be set to get the codes to flash

    Unfortunately not all trucks came with a shut down over ride. A lot of fleets ordered them without cause to many dumb drivers would use the over ride regardless of what it did to the engine.
    If your truck doesn't have an offer ride switch then your only option is to either buy a reader or take it to a shop that had one.
