Good advice right there. That's how he should leverage the boss but honestly seems like op would be much better off to leave even if the boss man paid a solid wage. I would think a good experienced dispatcher with negotiating skills for a small company working spot would be in demand.Andy.T Thanks this.

Don't just up and quit before you have your next new job in the bag. Get a new job nailed down first. Always amazed at drivers and others who get fed up and quit a job then can't find work again. But it seems, with drivers anyways, that a new job can easily be found because most companies just want warm bodies. But still, losing a week or more of downtime from a rash decision instead of hitting the ground rolling. Foolish to up and quit without something sure lined up already.

Andy, you don't need anyone here to tell you that you need to find a better paying job. You already know that. Your pay isn't even minimum wage in Florida. Even though you work from home, you still deserve a fair wage for the work you do. Throw in the towel and find a new job. Someone out there will appreciate your talents and pay you accordingly
RetiredUSN and Andy.T Thank this. -
for a short while I paid my sister 5 % of the gross. so some times she would make 25$ other time 200$ off one load. I would book a load before I left home and when im on the road she was looking for my load. but now I just do it all my self, with smart phones, mobile internet, laptop its easy to do it in the truck
but I don't know if 5% was too much or not.Andy.T Thanks this. -

Don't leave your guy hanging, because you will also leave a lot of his truckers hanging.
Also he was good enough to hire you when you needed a job after the last one didn't work out.
Look for other jobs and talk to him about needing more money or you have to leave for enough to make a living.
Don't burn the bridge , you never know when you will need it again.Andy.T, FLATBED and RetiredUSN Thank this.
