390 miles today. After my D/H in Hermiston, I head 100 miles to Yakima for a live load of apples and take them 178 miles back to Portland to relay. They will end up in Shaftner CA.
Get to Yakima at 15:45 and Shipping Dept decided to go home early today. Awesome. They are suppose be there until 16:30. Go talk to main office and he tells me, "Oh, you have to wait till Monday now, when they return" I don't think so. I call support shift since it's now after 16:00. Great. I know nothing is going to happen since they have that big computer update this weekend. The gal says I have to call back in the AM and talk with my DBL since she can't/won't send me back to Portland empty. So, here I sit at the Gearjammer T/S in Union Gap till the AM.
Been to to this place twice before, no problem. Always quick to get me out. Another SNI drive showed up right after I did. 2 loads missed.

That happened to me on a Saturday afternoon. There was a note to see someone not in shipping, like "ask for Juan". I almost missed him, looking for the shipping dept, but the driver that showed up right behind me found him while I as looking for a normal shipping office and being told by someone that they were closed. He got loaded first, but we got loaded. Bummer you missed them. He was on the side of the building you see when you first arrive. South side I think.

Yes. They have you pull around back and have you back up to a mobile ramp and load you. The lights were turned off in the shipping dept.
taugust, whenever I park in Weed, I always park by the Micky D's about a block away. There is a dirt lot next to the hotel that you can park in across the street. If the dirt lot is full, than I park on the street next to the McDonald's truck parking lot. The Pilot lot is just to jammed to try to park in. They are always 3 deep at the fuel pumps. I just walk to the Pilot for a shower or whatever I need. -
That's the place. The guy we were supposed to meet wasn't in shipping, he was around that corner. Something to consider for tomorrow. SW corner of the building.
As for Weed, I will be looking at those options next time through. I had the training on Wed. Not bad. Some discussion of events, backing test, and watch a 20 min CBT. -
Just got through reading everything up to this point. Nice blog guys. I'm leaving for Fontana on Monday for orientation. Signed up for Solo Western 11. learned a lot just reading all this and have a list of questions when i'm out with my trainer.

Best of luck. -
2630 miles last week. That included almost 4 hours lost to being overweight and have to return to the shipper to have a pallet removed.
Load of apples cancelled. Waiting for new pre assignment. -
Only 169 miles today. Left Union Gap and headed to Portland OC to P/U relay going to Sumner. Than start my TAH. Relay is not showing up till tomorrow at 09:00. I'll wait here for it to show up. I don't delivery the relay till 22:00 tomorrow night in Puyallup. It's a live load.

Softail with you running Western 11. Do you think you would have time to go to the gym, say like a 24 hour fitness or something every now and then while running? Also how hard is it to catch a regular shower while your running?
