She will get a MO license, then transfer it back to Iowa, if that is where she resides.
Trainer should get her back there during TNT to take care of that.

Thanks for the info Sir! I appreciate it.

Yep, it has been that amount since September or October of last year.

Just got in at the ole Campus Inn a couple of hours ago ready to start orientation in the AM. I have my Ohio CDL learners permit but did not get a medical card (I figured this would be taken care of at Prime). When I transfer to MO learners permit Prime's medical card should be applied right? Also in need of a flatbed trainer! Any takers?!?!

When you do your drug test/physical/vital check tomorrow, that's your medical card.wbeck46 Thanks this.

SWIFT Pays min wage while you drive with your trainer plus a dollar an hour, for your state min wage, and min wage for all other duties i found out today in school

That's nice. Don't forget all swift trucks fit under 12' overpasses. There's a lot more to picking out a first trucking company than the wages you'll make for a few weeks in training. After seeing what swifties go through, and what little swift management thinks of their drivers, you are welcome to drive for the laughingstock of the industry. This is a Prime forum, please don't be a troll.Last edited: Feb 16, 2015
CRoberts00 Thanks this. -
That used to be the case, but Swift had a major pay raise last year. I don't recall the actual numbers, but most new drivers are grossing $600-$700/week while out with their mentor.
CR England is the current laughingstock of the industry. US Xpress seems to be trying to take over that title. Swift did hold that title for a while, as did JB Hunt, Knight, Werner, and yes, Prime. Every company in that list has made positive changes in how it works, and they have the results to show for it. It takes a large, publicly traded company like Swift a lot more time to make major changes than a much smaller, private company like Prime can.
Yes, I've seen the nearly ten year old picture of the Swift truck stuck under the 12' bridge. Statistically speaking, 1-2% of any large group are complete idiots. Swift has around 20,000 drivers, so even 1% leaves quite a few idiots to do something photogenic.
As for your management comment, I have to take exception to it. My experience with Prime is documented on this forum, and I can honestly claim that I have seen how little Prime management thinks of their new drivers. I don't make that claim, though, since I know that what happened with me was not typical. It's no secret that I drive for Swift. I started with Swift with the specific plan of getting six months' experience, and switching to Prime as an experienced driver. That was over a year and a half ago, and my truck still has the Swift logo on the door. I have an excellent DM that keeps me rolling, and a fleet manager who will help me any way he can. Again, this is a large company. There's certain to be a few idiots in management, as well.
Please don't judge a company based on the actions of an extremely small minority. -
Ms Jamie... the point for you and antoinefinch is that this is a Prime forum. If you want to extoll the virtues of swift, you'd best do it somewhere else, and especially not in this thread. While your opinions are your own, I stand by mine as well.
