Well, they're not using "lumpers". They are all Walmart employees. Employed directly under Walmart. There's no outside company. That's why you pay Walmart.
Walmart DCs extremely slow, all of them, what is their problem lately???

$50 is a bargain. Nice smooth cement. Beats them 20 drop market loads.
-
at Walmart lumper fee is nothing more than a scam by Walmart is like you said Joe the people that unload the trailer are already being paid by Walmart as employees...
-
Everything is a scam. Some scams just cost less.
-
Ya but its their crap they shouldn't even charge.I have this animosity receivers charging to unload.I suppose with Walmart it's against company policy that drivers unload isn't it?
-
I agree with you. But it's not against Walmart policy for drivers to unload. But you have 2 hours, escorted, etc. they do not make it easy. They want their money.pattyj Thanks this.
-
oh ok,I didn't know if drivers were allowed on their docks.
-
yep and worse now then ever before
-
I always pissed lumpers off as I would ask how much they wanted just so I knew what to charge my company which paid me the fee if I unloaded the trailer...I always did, better than sitting upfront waiting and it could be as much as $150 I could make in 1-1.5hrs...

Doesn't sound like you guys have it much better than we do on the shipper side when sending stuff to Walmart DCs.
Their loads take the longest for our operators to load because of how their computerized ordering system orders. nothing like thousands of loose cases to pick for one order when they could figure out how to set it up for full cubes on one of the other 10 loads we'll send to that SAME DC in the next 3 days..
