semi retired always though 2/32 on drivers in the winter was a bad way to go. and if you forget to check them a lot and get the depth to low the cappers wont take them. i was like the other guy always started looking at about 4/32. got to run snow makeup day today so know holiday. stay warm
Whats the minnimum tread required on drive tires?

He probably got the governor bumped up a notch or two and decided to put on some racing slicks

Yeahbut... there's Google. A lot of questions here take 100-1000 times longer to compose than it would take to Google the answer.
Still, I have to give the OP a Thanks and 5 stars for not titling their post "Question". Just about every post here prompts discussion, and that seems to me to be the important thing. -
google can't strike up a conversation though. LOL

Strange seeing as how we are inspected every 3 months
-
Things such as that is probably why you are inspected every 3 months
Ruthless and spyder7723 Thank this. -
I was thinking the same thing. When winter comes, I want some tread under me. Maybe spring or fall I might go to 4/32 or less but not in the heat of the summer or during the slick season.

In bad conditions new vs. 4/32 there is really no difference in traction.

Hi IH, um, you sure about that? Maybe on ice, but in snow, give me lots of tread any day.KW Cajun Thanks this.
