Unless your cobra has been adjusted im not sure dk of a 29 is that high..I cant even use the two cobras i jave here to find out cause both habe been worked on....Guess your gonna have to find a good tech and ask for suggestions..

 

Well im thinkin your gonna need a tech to turn down the radio..Thats assumeing nothing else is wrong..

 

Your amp is a low drive, you need your radio tuned down to like .75 deadkey swing to maybe 1.50. Your arcing the tx relay. You could try taking a 19 foot piece of coax and lopping it in a 1.5 diameter citcle, that might work, I would find a tech.

 

You are wanting to do things that really only experienced techs should be doing. Yes, you can follow internet instructions and then add your name to the list of "Golden Screwdriver Tweaknicians", and that is O.K. if you are working on your own stuff and trying to learn, but if you want your stuff to be working as good as it can be with no fear of smoking the finals or something, a little investment in some postage might be a better bargain for you.....just my $.02
