Just think your first year you could make 17K + per diem. Does not even pay for the baby wipes.

The problem with popping on here with BS, Is most of us have lived this and know the truth about life, so when people pop on here with BS we tend to smell it fast. If you telling the truth you make more now in 3 week than you will in all likely hood make your first year. Now after the first year is down then it get better.
I have 2 sons 1 in working for Valley Bulk Inc hauling cement and ash making about 1500 per week, nut did his time at CRST because you have to do it somewhere and that was his choice. He is now on track to probably be at or over 60K per year shortly.
One of my other kids did Devry and is working for a software company in Tarzana and he did 108K last year, but had to pay for defry, and much like driving he is paid for hammering code on a keyboard, also can work from home.
My oldest is a PA and pulls down just over 100K per year and that took a BA form Chico State which also is not cheep.
The point is you can mak decent money driving but all my kids had to pay there dues oneway or there other.
The only way this makes since for you is if you truelky judt do not need the income and you seek the life experience.
If you need the income, dont change. -
Call it BS all you like my friend.
Some people have a "crisis of faith" in life - and need to make a change.
While it's easy to call BS - on people who are making good money, but are willing to take a pay cut, to take a chance at something that might be more fulfilling - is just the kind of BS that that makes the "old salts" on this board sound REALLY BITTER.
SO WHAT if the first year doesn't amount to much more than $30K? If someone wandered in here, uninformed, then complained about what they made in year one - tough on them for not doing their due diligence.
Some of the people here - that just want to call other people LIARS - without having a clue about them, their history and their future plans - are one of the reasons I took a hiatus from this board for a couple of years.
I would be more snarky than that it reply - but trolls just aren't worth the effort...

I've known people in similar situations. Not hard to believe at all IME.
rsconsulting Thanks this. -
Less stres, less money, but feeling more fulfilled & smile more often? I don't see why this is hard to believe. I've taken different jobs within the same industry for just this reason. I've yet to regret it. Everyone grows, learns, and deals with life differently therefore I wouldn't see calling BS is valid in this case. To each their own (for whatever reason).

he already stated he does not need the income. IT is a high stress long boring, burn out job course... yes I know from experience. Life is not just about money.rsconsulting Thanks this.

I'm in the same boat as a few of you. 20 years experience retired USN Electronics Engineer which turned into alot of boring IT work the past 10 years and no matter how many IT/EE jobs I browsed online I just couldn't get excited about doing any of them.
When I retired from the NAV instead of going to work I took free AMC terminal flights around asia for a while, bought a sail boat and went sailing around the pacific, then bought an RV and motorcycle and traveled the US with that free national parks pass and had a blast for a while but now I'm bored and in a CDL school that the VA is paying for so I can get paid to see more of the US. Can't wait to get started. -
Now there is a fella that's out of his mind LOL.

I hear you....what's it all about? The happiest years of my life were the poorest.
