I used to see atlases by a company called "gousha" or something like that. If you see one of them, leave it where ya seen it. They are cheaper for a reason. Couldnt even number roads or name streets correctly in it

I do not recommend the laminated one.

reason being, I buy a new one every year,to keep up with the different updates on the laws in the front,ie ( bridge lengths, axle weights). these change sometimes and we need to know this stuff.

My school gave us one, not laminated, along with the “green bible” as part of our class room work and ours to have after.
Because I am local, not by choice, I have not opened it since school.

Funny thing with the atlas before I had the class I took the atlas on vacation with me. I opened it took 1 look and closed it right back up, I had information over load! About an hour later I did reopen it and after a few min. I was able to figure it out for the most part, class did teach me a few things.

The 2015 Rand McNally Motor Carrier Deluxe Edition (spiral/laminated pages)...is $50 at Amazon and $39.99 direct from Rand McNally. Are they cheaper at the truck stops?

my trainer was nice enough to give me his map and his truck stop book, he says he does this with all his students

but when I went to school I had no money, I had $20 to last me 2 weeks, I had to have my parents wire me money for the license cost. so I couldn't afford to buy a map before I went to school

Yeah, I hear ya. I'll prob just wait. I just don't want to scramble looking for a new one when I do go solo.

I think schools should give them away when you finish school. i'm giving you $3000 for school the least you can do is GIVE me a $40 map.

or add the map to my bill. either way

I've always used the laminated Rand McNally Large Scale Motor Carriers Road Atlas. These sell out fast at truck stops. I like the large print.
