Yes they are. There will be no shaming here.

Most of us do. Join the club.:)

If you do well with that, then you'd be surprised what holes you could shoehorn that into.

I pull a shorter trailer, a couple feet longer than a pup though. I can get into places with that some of our straight truck drivers won't even attempt.

Well, that Volvo auto is nice. No clutch shifter with Drive,Reverse,Neutral and Manual.Much like a car.Manual doesnt shift up or down thru gears though. Its only good for holding a gear.Example going up a mountain, you push manual on top of shifter say when your in 10th or 11th and itll hold that gear going down the mountain. If you want auto again push yhe button.Sometimes I would set it while in 10th to slow me down going down the mountain.Weather permitting dont be shy about using the jake.2 clicks down(half a jake) before descent with a light load will usually keep your speed good with a light load. And occasionally 3clicks down and 1 click back up(when you start slowing down too much. These jakes will effect your control on rutty roads especially when changing lanes and wind so be cautious.Volvos handle great. You may get lucky finding straight pull thru parking but not likely. Typically all the Easy parking spots are taken first at Truck stops,so rest assured You Will have to get good at backing in very soon.Just like electricity"always take the path of least resistance".Practice, practice practice. Eventually you will have a darn good idea exactly when to turn etc. Try to keep as much of your trailer as possible in your mirrors when backing, not just one side.

My advice? Go until you hear glass or a metallic crunching sound. Then stop. 😜 Im pretty sure you're worried about nothing and just over-analyzing your situation. (Which isn't a bad thing,as it'll keep you "on your toes" while driving). IMO,complacency is one of the biggest causes of chaos out there.
