Reason I ask is that I work for a small outfit that is throwing money away on leases for 10 year old junk. Trying to convince this guy to just buy a couple new ones like this for not that much more per month.
check it out - new equipment

Hey RC,
First/foremost... congrats on a genuinely sweet lookin' trailer. Nice setup with the lift axle too.
It seems, so far, for ride height you just been going off the gap between your Surelok arm and axle swingarm.
Not sure if you have the exact ride height specs, or this info from Hendrickson.
I pasted the link below for Tech Manual L388 (Recommended Ride Height Settings).
http://www.hendrickson-intl.com/CMSPages/GetFile.aspx?guid=d73e5633-74f6-43ad-987c-188fb1327511
In any case, there should be a badge (tag) near the driver's side front tandem that will have your suspension model #, as well as the ride height (in inches).
It's probably covered with paint/coating, so it may need some careful scraping (better yet, solvent) to make the stamped numbers visible.
But the L388 manual does show the designed ride height (for each setup/model), as well as the minimum and maximum ride height limits, which would be good to know, considering your adjustments. Hope this info helps.
Edit/Add: I just ran across a video on ride height adjustment. The video shows all the above in 'easy peasy' style.

FLATBED, mp4694330, double yellow and 2 others Thank this. -
Did you christen it by eating off the floor? You can only do that once.
I bet you'll be hovering over every forklift jockey for the next 12 months.

Yeah no doubt. They don't stay new forever. You sure don't want to eat off the floor now. It's black and I haven't hauled any seriously cruddy, dirty loads in it either. I booked one last week and gave it back to them, no thanks, when I saw it was picking up at a scrap yard. They should have been up front, or I should have asked. They gave me my rate and it was after the fact I caught that. It must happen all the time they didn't get mad but sounded sad. My days of accepting any cruddy recycled materials loads are behind me. Not picking up loads at any more trash heaps.
Reading about that Kevin Rutherford glider got me to thinking I didn't come out so bad even though my lift was a tad over priced. $200,000 for a lemon of a glider is pretty regrettable stuff. I am actually very pleased with my lift and more convinced than ever it was well worth every penny. I did one load a couple of weeks ago 380 loaded miles with one pallet about 300 lbs load. Another I am doing right now is 5 pallet spaces in the nose and a 1,000 lbs if that on 320 miles.
Since the lift was installed I've turned 6,290 total hub miles. 3,619 of those miles that front axle has been up in the air. Most of those miles were empty. 700 of them were loaded miles with the axle lifted. That's 57% of the miles I've turned so far. I knew for a fact this would be a great modification before I bought it. Wasn't just a stab in the dark hoping. I still haven't done anything to try and get a little more lift out of it due to the weather and being busy. Might not even mess with it. So far so good my tires are doing just fine. Only minor scuffs on really bad potholes, etc.fortycalglock, Al. Roper, double yellow and 2 others Thank this.
