  1. Make sure you carry

    A 3" kife
    6 oz of toothpaste
    Big nail clippers
    A nail file.

OK. Just kidding. Forget the toothpaste

That's when you act like a TV psychologist and turn it around on him to solve his own problem.

Him: What do you think about ----, Pop?
You: What do you think about it?

Oh yeah.. sitting in Tyler TX delivering some fresh birds that left their souls in GA two days ago. Gonna come back this afternoon after they get stuffed in boxes and froze, so I can take them back home. I've just about decided to go a few extra miles and get some Sonic at the BBQ truck stop while I wait. Their que is ok, just not in the mood for it for some reason.

Side note: Tyler fascinates me with probably the stupidest truck restrictions of anywhere. To the point that I just turn the gps off to avoid a routing and truck restriction meltdown on my dash. Seems they change them every time I get thru here. The latest observation is FM-14 has apparently been "repaired" with a weight restriction 29T. Yeah ok. The plant where my 39T rig must go is right in the middle of it. Thank goodness I didn't fall through the road.

Takes a little practice. My Mom and I used to do this around my sister since she wasn't fast enough to understand it most of the time. Dad was a little better but was usually lost after the first sentence.

Take the first syllable of a word to the end and add "ay" to it. "sister" becomes "istersay" in pig latin.

+1 to ukumfe. You are the user name master. :)

A lot of Texas Farm to Market roads are restricted to that odd 29ton limit sort of as a default but from what I was told as long as you are doing "business" on that road and not simply taking a short cut, you're ok.

Yes I've seen that out in the sticks. This one is a recent change. The Sherlock Holmes in me thinks they really just wanted to scare the potential Tyler thru traffic that spent the night at the Pilot to use another route. Probably secretly wishing them onto that 49 toll road that has a dozen great free ways around it.

That wouldn't surprise me. When they built that I thought "Does Tyler really NEED a toll road?"

  10. "Grumble , grumble... 3°. And .hopefully going to warm up.

Dropped the dollies on the ground and hooked up trucks to it. What I hauled left before paperwork was signed. uploadfromtaptalk1424729744708.jpg

My GPS is for passenger vehicles and straight trucks and I keep it on trucks when I am driving the big truck... It once went ABSOLUTELY BANANAS :smt120 somewhere in New Jersey... or maybe it was PA..... can't remember... anyway... it was giving me one restriction after another on the boulevard where I was and telling me to take detours "left and right"... That made me CRAZY! :biggrin_2552: I knew the route was ok for big trucks... but I needed GPS "help" not to miss my turn... So, to avoid more confusion, I changed it to "car" instead of "Truck" and it gave me the route that I wanted... :yes2557:
