I guess you can say I am trying talk myself out of it...lol. basic math makes my business decisions for me. i feel like my current 2013 cascadia with cummins has not been my best business decision I have ever made...just want to make sure my next truck is the best decision I can make. I am not married to MF engine idea however I am trying to figure out the best "bang for my buck". If I was looking for my next O/O truck it would surely not be a MF.

Are you going to be the one driving if so do whatever you please ... But if you have a driver on it expect a lot of angry confrontations when he's rightfully upset about another week of low or no income due to the downtime ... Unless your coughing up decent downtime pay expect bottom teir drivers and the hassles that go with them
-
How about swapping a dd into your current rig?
-
Already figured in downtime pay into my numbers. I've been a company driver and I know when you are broke down what you expect.
swap doesn't seem financially sound. I would rather just do a a dpf/egr/dpf delete. I have been told that the series cummins I have is flawed more than the previous series. I have cm2250 and they have alot of problems with this aftertreat. If I'm not mistaking they only did this series for 2 years and have moved on to the cm3350.magoo68 Thanks this. -
If I leaned towards a swap I would just buy a new FL with a dd15 and be done however me and wife are not planning on driving that much longer to purchase new truck. Hence the reason for purchasing trucks and hiring drivers.
DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
Buying a new one would probably be a lot less headache and downtime too
-
Completely agree but as mentioned not in market for new truck for myself. Will make the current cummins work and just put aside little extra money for repairs.
DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
I dont blame you. Hope things get better and don't cost you too much before you can get drivers in your trucks
-
If you wanna prostar just take it with cummins.

MaxxForce engines are rated for 350k and that is absolutely it. My buddy works at a dealership and they are swapping them out as fast as they can get them in.
