That explains the 70 in a 40. Listen. I'm going to be honest with you. And blunt. Driving may not be for you. These vehicles are 80,000 pounds and almost 14 feet high and almost 10 feet wide. Around 70 feet long too. It takes a lot to stop one if these things. Not driving safely can kill someone, or many someones. Imagine getting into an accident on the Cross Bronx or the Van Wyck. Not paying attention and smashing into traffic on the LIE. And you've probably not been in the west with ice covered mountain passes or even in West Virginia where it looks like a 4 year old designed the road with all the twists and turns and hills. I understand that you're 25, but you're no kid. Even if any company would take you on, which none will at this point, you're not ready for this kind of responsibility, seeing how your record is. Take a few years. CALM DOWN AND SLOW DOWN. Re-evaluate where you are in life and your driving habits. Then maybe you can get into a truck. But right now, you're nowhere near ready for this. I'm not saying it to be mean. I'm saying it to save your life.

Yea I understand that and really appreciate it. I don't wanna even think of crashing that monster onto Van Wyck or LIE coz that will be a mess in that traffic. I am really calmed from last 2 and half years that's the reason I never received in ticket from almost 2 and half years. I got really control over myself now. Thanks a lot of all the info. Stay safe out there.

I have a question, if my license was suspended for an unpaid fine (walking on closed sidewalk) would that hurt my chances of getting a job in trucking?
ThanksChinatown Thanks this. -

Just to be on the safe side, wait at least another 7 years. This should give you a record of 10 years without any accidents or motor vehicle violations. If I recollect, you mentioned that you went 3 years without any tickets? Those 3 years plus another 7 years will equal 10 years.
In the mean time, work at your job for another 7 years to have a full 10 year work history. Perhaps you could work at a NON-driving job to reduce the risk of getting any more tickets, accidents, or motor vehicle violations.
Equally important, stay out of any trouble with the law. After you have acquired your CLEAN 10 year MVR history, along with your 10 year work history, then go for the truck driving career.
Good luck to you!
God bless you and your family! God bless the U.S.A.! -
well he seems to have a decent attitude about it all at least....not getting defensive even tho he didnt get the answer he was looking for....yeah you need to SLOW down dude and if you begin driving a truck, your CDL is your lively hood....a lot more consequences involved ....
i have had my share of speeding tickets in a CMV when i was younger .. and i was suspended years ago for an unpaid ticket...and also got caught while driving suspended in a CMV...thank goodness i talked my way out of jail.... this was all back in the 90's....but things are a lot more strict now a days then they used to be...not being mean but you got your DL taken away due to your bad habits, you arent gonna have any luck getting a job in trucking i dont think...i could be wrong .....but seriously you need to take your DL more serious dude.....best wishes -
Waiting for Chinatown to come and recommend that company.

Unfortunaley your last 3 years show a pattern of just not caring about the law. It's unlikely anybody would go near you for the next couple years. The fact you went 30mph over the limit is REALLY gonna scare the crap out of many companies, you almost doubled a limit! That's arrestable in many places! When I was younger I screwed my record up way worse than that and it took a LONG time to fix.
