Look at all the food labels. Find a good Endocrinologist Dr to help manage and treat you. A couple of my major food problems where milk and pizza. shot my sugars thru the roof.

i used to be at the point right before having diabetes. I guess you could call it pre-diabetes where you have the warning signs but without the high or low spikes in your blood sugar. I combated that by going on a low carbohydrate high fat diet. I'm no longer at risk, and my blood pressure has dropped from hypertension levels to normal levels without the need of medication. I'm not saying you are obese OP, but the benefits of avoiding carbs and sugar will help you hopefully get your blood sugar under control.

Gotta get off that junk food for good and sugar.
High fructose corn syrup is the dealiest thing you can eat to encourage type 2.
its the number #1 reason for you having health problems.
    that stuff should be banned.
ive done courier work in my personal vehicle just to make ends meet in the early days.
Diabetes is in epidemic mode in the US. And theres no solution in sight when you've got a corrupt food industry that doesn't give a #### about your health.
You have to do your research and eat a much more healthy diet than what you're doing at present.
    good luck.

The good news is for most people diagnosed with type 2, if you change up how you eat and get a little exercise, you should get it under control pretty quickly. You need to watch what you eat. No sugary foods for starters. Try to keep your carb intake as low as possible, as carbs turn to sugar in your body. Eat lots of green veggies, and avoid corn, as it's super high in carbs,
Also, stay away from anything white, such as white bread or potatoes. sweet potatoes are ok. Vinegar helps to lower your sugar, so salads with fat free dressings are a good choice.
Grapefruit juice will help lower sugar levels, but stay away from fruits, as they are high in sugar, especially oranges.
I used to have an A1C over 10, but with watching what I eat, I quickly got it under control, and now it's always between 5 and 6.
If you are overweight, and you can lose the extra pounds, your diabetes will most likely go away. I know, it's easier said than done. If you really have a lot of weight to lose, and you're serious about doing so, pm me and I'll tell you what worked quickly for me.
Good luck with getting it under control. You'll fell much better when you do.

I developed type 2 diabetes a while back and reversed it back to normal within 6 months by eating a mostly plant based diet (juicing). I was intrigued by a documentary called "Fat, sick and nearly dead", which got me started on the right path. I used to really love eating in the "fun part of town" (pizza, burgers, ice cream, etc), but now eat those things less frequently. My change of diet also resulted in my blood pressure becoming much lower and no longer requiring medication.

    That's it??

Seriously mine was at that level and I just changed my diet and started to exercise more.

Remember NO SUGAR or sugar subs like fructose. Don't even drink diet pop for a while.

learn how to read labels and don't ever forget that a lot of food has hidden sugar in it.

Also be careful of fruit, take some glucose readings a hour after you eat fruit to see if you have an intolerance to certain things.

Oh and no watermelon by the way.
