I very seriously doubt that is the situation. A very rural Sheriffs Department. Maybe spoiled the crime scene with tobacco spit and empty bags of pork rinds, but steal 4 mil, I doubt it.

Hats off to you brother. I'd be so paranoid that someone would rob me and they would pin the blame on me and arrest me for it. Someone has to be watching you or monitoring a load like that.

I was young with children and a mortgage and all that stuff.

Hooked it up loaded. On a dirt lot. No kingpin lock. Just a plain old plastic seal on 1 door.

Paperwork in the document box clearly identified exactly what was in the trailer.

Treasury guys in Atlanta sure were paranoid.

Wonder if I could've made it to Mexico B4 they figured I should've turned left ?

if that gold gets to some place where it can be melted down, it's untraceable and can never be found.

I also find it hard to believe the FBI doesn't know if a Federal Crime occurred or not.

of course one did. It's interstate commerce. The load originated in one state, was enroute to another, and was hijacked in between.

the guards were armed, but of course these two men didnt have the cojones to defend their load or themselves as they were paid too, since they were armed.

Definitely smells of an inside job. Someone knew where that truck was gonna be, when it was gonna be there, what truck/trailer were hauling it. If not the drivers, someone in shipping or receiving knew.

so long as it's a country that does not extradite, you're fine. But even then, the US Govt has been known to send international bounty hunters, to kidnap you and bring you back to face justice.

It's getting harder and harder to find a rock to hide under in this world, even if you're "off the grid". Just ask Whitey Bulger. Just ask all those former NAZI SS guards and officers who fled to South America and then were caught and extradited back to the US or Germany to face a trial or tribunal.

Very true, You can't even have a private swiss bank account anymore either, They ruined that for us too. The benefit of offshore banking is to protect your money from lawsuit happy people, Divorce, etc but they act like everyone who banks offshore is just a terrorist hiding dirty money which is not true. Lots of the dirty money can be found in our own "regulated" banks onshore.

Seems to be working well for the mega carriers and their get rich quick ads. :)

But seriously if you get a chance to read that book, it's very obvious he did it. Either that or he is a better writer than any top NY #1 Bestselling author in the past 2-3 decades.

that's right. The Swiss sold their customers privacy out when they were threatened with aiding and abetting war criminals.

You can't even put money in a safety deposit box in the U.S. anymore without a debt collector finding out about it and getting a court order to put a freeze on it.

best thing to do nowadays is, the minute you get paid, withdraw it all, and put in a safe and don't tell anyone you have a safe, don't ever show anyone where it's at, and make sure it's encased in concrete and bolted down the best you can (which still won't stop even the most determined and technologically equipped thief).

You know what's funny about that, when they were asked point blank about if they're also going to look at IBM and all these other major corporations swiss accounts, they said NO. Only small individual accounts like mine and people who aren't billionaires.

So much money is digital now too, and cash is getting phased out which is worrisome because one fell swoop and they can steal everyones money.
