That's the paradigm you are willing to accept, not mine.

Why is it always someone w/little or no time out here that always want to make these arguments? Anecdotal experience? Nothing anecdotal about spending couple of hours HELPING some newbie get their truck squared away when its -20 cuz THEY read an article about HOW it shouldn't be a problem not idling in extreme temps--due to their new fancy truck....
Not to mention the amount of folks that do NOTHING to prepare their trucks for harsh climates--there have been times EVERY winter i have been out here--that it is easier to count the trucks runnin down the road--then the ones sitting on the side of it--in extreme cold because they weren't prepared...and when its sub zero and your truck dies RUNNIN down the road---and truck dies---and someone from your company calls a road service company for you--and they tell them they'll put you in LINE and should be able to get to you sometime in the next 48 hours....tell us how that works for youFatDaddy Thanks this. -
Those are exactly the ones we are mentioning.

So there are companies like Espar who just made billions from a "necessary" evil.

all the time if i want a/c or heat. why change up now at this point in my life? -
Eberspächer, better known as Espar, was in business long before anyone was concerned about the costs of idling.

Some of these trucking companies are ridiculous about the idling policy, not that long ago I seen a lady driver shut off the truck while sliding tandems. I mean she shut off the truck each time she exited the truck to adjust the tandem position, at least 3-4 times.

At roehl we were supposed to shut off the truck every time we got out. Meaning when backing into a parking spot or a dock, any time you were to GOAL, you shut the truck off. I thought it was ridiculous and I never did it on my own
