Sooooo, lot lizards can be written off as entertainment, then the penicillin is deducted as medical, and of course you now need to steralize the cab and that goes to truck cleaning, So if you try you should be able to write off just about anything.

    I figured I was out 5 days a week, times 50 weeks, so i wrote off 59 * 5 *50.
I figured they would take out the 20%

Only if you buy them for your client, customer, or employee. Probably have to be in Nevada too...

Entertainment for the leadership conference. Hey if the IRS can have a leadership conference on my dime, then we should be able to at-least use it as a deduction.

No doubt. Then lose the documentation to prove it.

Hey that sounds great until the IRS investigator asks a question "where is the GPS you bought for $399?"

$59 per day(no need for receipts) x 5 days a week x 52 weeks = $15,340 in direct writeoff of gross income and no fear of an audit...

True, but we only get to deduct 80% of the $59/day. Work clothes, food, lots of stuff is included umbrella. The IRS has the instruction form, very inclusive for transportation workers.

This morning's news item: "The IRS budget reductions have reduced audits to .89% of filers." Unless you do something really out of balance in your return, the tax man just isn't coming to your door. They did audit me a couple of times recently, no prob, gave them a few dollars and they went away. Remember that post from Heavy Hauler, the perils of working heavy loads? Well, there are perils when you cheat on your taxes. If you accept the choice, you accept the consequences, so be careful what you choose to do. I've learned it's easier for me, and for my peace of mind, to just do it right, pay the minimum of what I am required to pay, move right along.
