Sure L.A. is nice when it's 5 degrees in the Midwest, but you don't hear about the praises when it's 97 degrees and you can't go outside, and it hasn't rained in 6 months, and when it does, it rains so hard, the hills let loose, sending a wall of mud cascading down the slopes. Don't forget the fires that devastate thousands of acres every year. I don't think there is such a thing as a perfect climate anywhere in the US.
Shoot I used to think NC was the only place that actually had 4 seasons......not so much anymore. We seem to go directly from summer to winter , nowadays , then winter right back to summer. My absolute favorite time is the fall . you know , mornings when the temps get down into the high 30' s , then warm-up to around 50....just enough of a breeze to get leaves to falling....
To all of you west coast haters.......

Hi Tony, I agree. Fall is my favorite too, although, spring is nice too, everything seems so fresh and new. The only problem with fall, is winter is next.Tonythetruckerdude Thanks this.

Was up in Yosemite, CA. Most beautiful scenery I have ever witnessed. The road up there was crazy too, a steep winding climb.....the way down was fun though!

Started out as a mid westerner but have been a East coaster for the past 30 years.
All this talk on here lately about California has me thinking I need to get out there and give it a try.
The traffic and old people in my Florida town are becoming unbearable.
i am thinking somewhere in Nevada, that way i can easily visit California without having to live there. -
Hi tommy, a word of advice, you've been warned. Coming from Wis. I was totally unprepared for what L.A. was like. I've never seen such traffic in my life. Oh sure, I've been in plenty of traffic jams in Chicago or Twin Cities, but eventually, things cleared up and I was rolling again. Not so in L.A. I think there's a sweet spot, between 2 and 4 am, the rest of the time, it's practically gridlock. I asked my daughter, who since moved back to Wis., how do you plan anything. She said, it's just understood what traffic is like and everybody knows about it, so you just get there when you get there. The other thing, is it's so big. I just couldn't get my bearings as to where I was. I had to get 2 paper road maps, which was a chore in itself finding them, to see how everything was laid out. BTW, if you like burgers, get a "Fatburger"!!! Santa Monica and the coast was awesome, and Venice Beach, well, let's say anything goes at Venice Beach!!tommymonza Thanks this.
