Many phone numbers haven't changed around there in years.

So I guess I should probably be getting info about my bus ticket any day now. I know at least my recruiter said I'd be getting a packing list a week from my start date (which would have been today, but nothing has come in yet). Don't want to sound crabby/impatient, but I'd sure like to hear something from them. I was told that Prime doesn't do pre-hire letters, but I'd just really love to have something other than an entry in my phone's call log to show that this is really happening; that I didn't just dream/hallucinate all this, if that makes any sense. I guess I'm just eager to get started and going stir crazy here.
Anyway, I was bored so I looked up the Greyhound schedule for this Saturday, which I'm thinking is probably the day they'd get me shipped out. The nearest Greyhound address to me that Google maps found was in Mt. Vernon, IL, but that address is also...McDonald's... So do I get a ticket in the mail and get picked up at Mickey D's or do I have to to to a real Greyhound place? I'm fortunate enough to live a lot closer to SpriMO than a lot of folks, so 2 of the buses on the schedule were only 7 or 8 hour rides. But there was another one going all over MO which will be a 15 1/2 hour nightmare trip like some of the horror stories others have talked about. If I get put on that one you all might get to see a 6' 300 lb. guy cry! -
Drive down if it's an option. Having your personal vehicle there is nice.
darthanubis Thanks this. -
You should get a pre hire letter in your email that gives you your start date for orientation, your travel info, and what to pack and all that. If you haven't gotten that yet then you haven't been cleared to arrive yet. I would send my recruiter a quick email message just to follow up.
Good luck -
I thought about it, but the thing is even though I live closer to Springfield that many folks, I think it's still far enough that I'd probably take the truck home for hometime, and my car would be sitting 5 hours away in MO and I don't have an extra vehicle.

Just got a reply back from Holly that she'd send me my details in the morning.

Glad to hear that. I know how it's feels waiting and wanting to get your new career started. Hours feel like days, days feel like weeks and weeks feel like months. It is worth the wait.

Got my prehire email, so looks like I'm confirmed for orientation for the 9th. Got the DOT Medical Release Form submitted, but I can't view the other one. I guess I could just click the green accept button, but I don't like accepting something I haven't even read yet. Still awaiting info on my ticket for the dog.
Anybody else out there in the Class of March 9? -
Right here.
