I'm in Portland as well. Had a load at the rail yard that was broken into so wasn't able to pick it up until the police and everyone else does there investigation on it.

Murfreesboro. Wonder if they'll ever expand the pilot down here. Even getting a scale ticket is getting to be an adventure
Chucktshoes Thanks this. -
I am at the Gear Jammer in Yakima after the trailer day from hell. Charging it with jumper cables and hoping that it will start. If not then it is the TA in North Bend for me in the morning.

"night loser" doesn't get to make the decision. They have their instructions and they would have to pay to if they just arbitrarily decided to let you trash the product.
Prime Claims doesn't get to make the decision either. Thats why we don't have someone in claims 24 hours
The customer makes the decision. Except for a handful of customers, the customers typically don't have their claims decision people in the office 24 hours a day either.
The only decisions night dispatch and the Prime Claims department get to make themselves is if there are pre-determined claims instructions approved by the customer in the claims file on what to do with overage or damaged product. example would be customer approves disposal of claims product if X cases or less.
Night guys follow same instructions file as Prime claims department does during the day. example would be "email x, y z. with pieces and product code, information a,b,c and d." Or " call X company after hours claims phone number and leave message with all required info."
Its a small victory if night dispatch gets a response from these customers overnight on a claims issue. sometimes they get lucky with someone from theses customers checking their work email at home.Highway101 Thanks this. -

Looking at it from a drivers perspective (I'm sure you remember this- it hasn't been that long ago) you'll sense my frustration over the entire incident. The receivers predeliction to refuse product with minor case damage that results in no damage to the product, their continual history of unloading damage, and the knowledge that the ultimate result of the claim will almost probably be exactly where things ended, discarding the product.
Thanks for your insight though... I'm sure it will be educational for everyone reading this. -
