I worked for Schilli specialized out of Remington Indiana for 8 months and they have the world's worst dispatchers. They will make you sit and wait for Hours to get a dispatch for the day. Dispatchers take an hour lunch everyday so if you call when They are at lunch No one answers the phone so you are sol for that hour. They only are only available m-f from 8-5 and gone on the weekend. They have an After hours number to call but good luck getting a hold of them you have to leave a voicemail because no one answers the #### phone. They never answer the phone you always have to communicate using the Qualcomm. They take forever to pay you back for expenses. They tried to say I didn't send them a receipt for a pry bar that I had bought a month ago. They don't reimburse for scale tickets even though they are supposed to. I got an overweight ticket with them and I had to fight with them to at least pay for half. The trucks if you are a local driver are older 2006 kenworths. My truck broke down 3 times with them. They don't take care of their equipment everything is overdue on Maintenance. They have old crappy Wabash National trailers. Of course the otr drivers get nice newer cascadias. Every driver I talked to hated the company and told me they treat drivers like Crap. You only get .45 cents loaded and .30 cents empty on miles. You get more empty miles though so you get a inconsistent paycheck every week. I was only getting an average of 1000 miles a week there. Most of their loads are live load and unload and they only pay you $40 layover pay if you are lucky. I sat at a place for 10 hours and only got $40 layover and no detention pay. I also got my truck stuck in a snowbank in front of a shipper a month before I quit and they wanted me to pay for it and they took it out of my 2nd to last paycheck. They also made me pay half for a rental car I had to use to get home after I returned their truck because they only wanted to pay $50 for one. They are a very cheap company and I can't believe they are still in business! Poor excuse for a trucking company! So if you want them to nickel and dime you on your pay and want to drive crappy equipment with high mile trucks and old and out of Maintenance trailers then Schilli is for you.

This would be the very first time I've ever heard a Schilli driver complain. I need more before I make a judgement call on this company. I'd apply, but I prefer the carrier I already work for.

So were you a local driver? No way I would work local for mileage pay.
I'm confused about one thing. You expected them to pay for rental after you quit? Is that a common practice?
On your side though on the dispatchers being unavailable. That would be very frustrating.

I know their trucks at the local terminal here are pretty sad looking.

A friend worked for a company who used Schilli NationaLease for service. His truck wouldn't start one morning, would crank, but wouldn't start. Called Schilli, told them that, they sent a mechanic out, in his personal SUV, with a set of jumper cables, and no tools.....

Yes I was a local driver I was desperate for something local I have 3 speeding tickets and they were the only local company to hire me. I should have done more homework about them but there are very few reviews about them online and yes not getting anyone to answer the phones was very frustrating they have poor communication skills

They told me they would pay for a rental and when they found out it was gonna be $98 they wanted me to pay for half they thought it would only be $50. I was just frustrated because they told me they would cover the total cost and they didn't. They also are going to mail me my last check even though I had direct deposit and I was told it's going to be a couple of weeks to get it. Maybe otr drivers are treated better but I was very unimpressed with this company.

I've never known of a company that would pay for a rental car for a driver who resigned. You might get a ride down to the bus station or even to the airport if somebody happened to be going that way. But a rental car, or even half of a rental car price....no way.

Well they were going to have me just wait for another driver who was going by my area but they didn't know when they could take me but I've never had a company do that before. I was surprised they offered it.
