Hey everyone pretty new here, currently at home awaiting my trainer to pick me up to start my training with my first trucking company. Anyways my wife's papa has been a trucker for 48 years now and purchased me a CB for when I solo out. It's a Galaxy 939 and was just wondering what your thoughts are on it? Also got me an Astatic mic cause he isn't a fan of the ones that come with the galaxy

Thanks for the reply. I bought it a week ago. the antennas on the truck didn't seem to be worth a crap. the coaxial is as thick as a spaghetti noodle. so I bought a thicker coaxial a and a 4' Francis antenna. I'm not familiar with the other antennas with the coil shape and all that stuff. I'm at home and in a very rural area. so I wont know how it does until I get around other truckers on the road to check it out. I have always ran a Cobra or uniden. I decided to bite the bullet and spend some money on a better radio. Heard a lot of good things about a connex.Last edited: Mar 6, 2015

Are you going to use it as a base or mobile?

I guess mobile. for trucking

Get yourself a Sirio Performer antenna. The best antenna you can get!

How much do they cost?
