What's the likelihood that it would be difficult for a guy in his mid 50s to find a trucking company willing to take him on? Assume a solid work history, no felonies or drug use, yadda, yadda.
And yes, it's me.

ramblingman Thanks this. -
Not a problem at all. Look at my profile. I have no problems,, and in fact, many times they prefer us 'old schoolers. Ya whippersnapper!
-
No problem.

how old is the average trucker. I'll be going to trucking school soon only 21
-
Wild guess maybe 35 or so. There will either be just you or possibly one other person your age, most likely.
Trucking is a loner career. Nobody else matters but you and your aspirations. You will most likely never see anyone from your class again once you secure your cdl. -
I'm definitely the youngest in my class too. We have a few late 20's, a bunch in their 30's, and several 40's+.
-
In trucking...old guys rule!!!

With a clean record, you will likely get every job you apply for. I did, in my late 50s. A clean record is more important than age. Most applicants do not have a clean record, so you will go to the head of the line.
