Hi ya mje,you may not mind getting paid every other week but I do especially if you're not working many hrs to begin with. The tanker outfit I turned down because it was only 31 cpm and not consistant. The second job was only thru April and like an oncall basis.Id rather stay broke and have Ray pay my bills then only make spending money. Not even worth the gas to and from work.I don't know of any trucking companies that hold back your checks until now like Beyond Transport does.I bet she gets paid every week.By the time the poor drivers do get paid, half of it will be going back because its cash advances. It easier to manage your money working a job where you're home every day then gone on the road.
Are we a bad trucking company?

Although on one hand I would agree with you, but on the other hand I don't and here is why.
It is a driver's concern because the more money driver's cost either by lack of caring for equipment or just plain old stupid mistakes that they make, then the more it drags on the bottom line and it's hard to pay for all of those nice things like vacation and benefits.
These things really do work hand in hand.
So although incentives are great, drivers should take into consideration that everything costs money from are end as well.
AfterShock Thanks this. -
I have already stated several times, but I'll say it again - our pay is direct deposited every Friday!!
AfterShock Thanks this. -
I think that the majority of jobs in the marketplace are currently structured to do this. You don't start on Monday and get you first paycheck on Friday. I have never worked at job that does this.... how many trucking companies has anyone on here started with that this has happened?? I cant imagine that there are very many. Plus I have talked to drivers from many different well known companies such as werner, Schneider, covenant etc....I don't really feel like we are that off from these companies. Doesn't everyone understand that you are just cutting pieces from the same pie?

This is all BS!
If you don't have enough capital to run the dam company the right way then you shouldn't be in business!!! PERIOD!
All your whinning about is what this costs and what that costs, it's called business expenses. Can't afford them? Get the hell out of business. Drivers aren't here to float your company, if you can't afford to pay a driver at the end of the week you can't afford to be in business. Wtf is wrong with people. You need to start small until you have enough capital to do business properly!
Why would anyone agree to work for you unless they were here illegally? The rest of us have options with ligitimate companies.diesel drinker, vmaggs, truckerlife74 and 3 others Thank this. -
Every job save for maybe one, possibly two when I was young has been like that. These were none trucking related however.
I don't think you're horribly wrong though, and glad to see a company actually has the cajones to ask publicly for advice, just take the advice of these more experienced men & women in regards to E-Logs and better maintenance policy, and of course better wages to attract better drivers who will actually save you money because they'll actually do their job correctly. Low wages only attract low lifes. -
Yeah and you also stated it doesn't begin till 2 or 3 weeks later.
Most companies you work this week, you get paid next week. There's no waiting 3 weeks for your first check.diesel drinker and Jumbo Thank this. -
The escrow thing is ridiculous. A company driver isn't responsible for the 'burden' you mention. That burden is on the employer and is a factor in the how low the pay is relative to the 'money to the truck'.
-
No one is going anywhere that demands an escrow unless your actually buying or leasing a truck. As a company driver no one should be required to place money in escrow. Only reason any company would do so is because they can't afford to be in business in the first place.

Ok then, maybe you drivers would like to be honest here and say how you started it out with your company? Under what circumstances are you driving? How much pay are you really getting? ..or are you getting nickeled and dimed to a dwindled pay check? Do you all have health insurance? 401ks? When did you guys get your first pay check? is the pay weekly? I'd love to hear how the other companies are doing it? I'm completely honest so I would love to hear some honest answers.
spyder7723, marineman227 and AfterShock Thank this.
