You don't lose it. You become exempt from driving state to state.
-
They downgrade you in Texas.
-
A CDL is invalid without a medical card.
-
In NJ you would be downgraded. I have had drivers already downgraded but corrected once you got your cdl exam by a certified doc.
-
I know it varies from state to state but in Texas you have 45 days after you first get your CDL to get your medical card and register it with the state

You don't lose your cdl,it gets downgraded to a regular license then once you get a new med card the dmv upgrades it back to a cdl immediately.
-

-
Texas will downgrade you to a C if you ignore the medical self certification. You can still drive in Texas if you follow the self certification guidelines
