Just got back from Pueblo, CO took my very first trip over Monarch. That area is really not as bad as I had heard, just took it low and slow.
When I got back I had my 50 hours on line 3 that is required for me to go solo, but no one that could upgrade me was at the terminal so I have to wait until Monday. So it was my option, stay home or go back out for another run with the trainer/evaluator. I opted to go on a run. We will be back Sunday night, I meet up with Rachel from safety for my road test, then I should have my own truck and own route. I'll let ya all know how it goes.

How long have u been driving? 50 hrs with a evaluator seems to be a lot unless you haven't been driving long. Just curious. Thanks for the updates

50 hours on line 3 is only a week (10 hours a day) I had a year break from driving that is why I have to out with an evaluator. Trainees have to go out for up to 2-3 months, as with most companies. How long did you have to go out with a trainer? And what company?

I went out 6 weeks but I was straight out of school. I'm looking at coming back out west but I'm afraid of losing to much

I only had to go out with and evaluator because of my break in driving, I went back to active duty until retirement. Give Brian a call and he can answer your questions. I know Pride just got a new pay plan and a bonus for OTR drivers, I did not qualify for the bonus because I am on dedicated. You can IM me and I can give you his number and email.

I called a recruiter last week told me I could start at .34 cpm but 22-2800 miles a week. I can't tell u how many companies believe you can't run 3000 or more miles on elogs. That's my problem I have 6 months experience I'm making .405 cpm and I'm on a dedicated run of 3600 miles a week

I would stay where you are! On dedicated just this past week I turned about 3400 miles. I cannot speak for others. I am trying to figure out where all of you other drivers are getting these high paying gigs. Every place I ever called on average was paying .32 to .34. Pride offered me .36 plus bonuses paid every month.

Some of those higher CPM companies are driver unload or assist unload. Crete/Shaffer has higher CPM, but still have atrocious driver turnover. Some that post on here drove there and it seems most leave within a year. I'd rather work for .36 cpm plus bonuses if it means less stress on the job. Pulling hazmat/tankers I only made .36 cpm, but my annual pay was $65K due to accessorial pays added in.

Finished up with my evaluation hours (I also did an extra run just because no body would be in the office for the weekend), I will go up today, and Rachel will take me on the road test, then I will be issued my truck. I'll update as things change. 4 back to back trips across Monarch. (2 trips out and 2 trips back) Why do people make such a big deal out of that pass? It was not near as bad as the horror stories I have heard about. Had an idiot 4 wheeler pull out of the ski resort to be ahead of me and almost had a head on with another 4 wheeler coming up the east side, but other than that, pretty smooth trip.

all the passes are good until they aren't

all companies pay a lil different just need to find out what works for you
some drivers on here even lie about their pay
either because they are paid so little it is embarrassing
or paid enough not to whine but they want to anyway

I made over $67 last year never touched a piece of freight
not bad for a reefer gig
