Literally just witnessed a combination of about 40 to 50 accidents and vehicles stuck in ditches in the past two days. I think not ending up like THAT is the hardest part.
allniter Thanks this. -
I just signed up for a 5 month Tractor Trailer course @ NETTS, and I really appreciate the raw honesty of this post. Thank you. Will keep it in mind through the schooling...and beyond. -
Along the line of staying humble as you gain experience, this week I saw some things drivers did that made me say WOW?
*One was making a tight turn into a driveway and it *seems* the weight of his load and the fact that it's been raining for 3 days the soft portion of the driveway give way. The truck and the 53' van were sitting there ####ed to the right. The only thing that kept it from being a rollover was the cement drain about 1 foot under the ground.
*Two drivers stuck in the mud attempting to U turn.
*A bobtail that changed lanes to the right...and obviously never checked his mirror. He caught a car. He had left and right "spot" mirrors, and while I couldn't be sure...it seems he just never checked.
STUFF HAPPENS!!! Especially when you don't do your part to make sure you're making a good move.
