Does anybody know if there are any dash cameras available that are capable of actually recording and playing back the (approximate) rate of speed your vehicle is traveling at?
Dash Camera that records and plays back speed?

It is those with the "gps" built in that record speed and position along with the video.
Here is a link to a bunch (that I am not affiliated with, but it is s good review site) https://dashcamtalk.com/SFLTRKBIZ and Jeremy102077 Thank this. -
Awesome, thanks.

What is Approximate Speed?
Most (All?) of the ones that have Speed built in get it via a GPS Speed which is normally very accurate. -
Approximate, as in something that may vary however slightly, from whatever the truck's speedometer says.
-
If you're going down a 20% grade, the speed reported by a GPS device probably won't be an entirely accurate representation of true ground speed, otherwise it will probably be more accurate then your speedo on level ground and not surrounded by big trees.
-
Actually, since GPSes track in all 3 dimensions, it probably will be just as accurate as it is on level surfaces.
