Mr x, with as much ridiculousness I've seen in the truck stops, I agree with your statement.

Ive had drivers honk at me and walk up to my truck yelling at me for having a slow def pump, so wtf do u want me to do? Yell at the def pump?

To much arrogance these days. Had a log truck driver behind me walk up to my door and start cussing me out because the scale wasn’t working right for him. I jumped out of the truck with crazy bugged out eyes and my cheater bar in my hand and chased him back to his truck! I had to slow down a few times so I didn’t catch him. The loader operator was laughing so hard he had tears in his eyes!

People just jump conclusions without knowing the facts.

If you see me getting fuel, just go back to sleep driver cause its probably after 3:00 AM, might see me later having a mid day nap in an empty truck stop! ;)

I can see it now .. all gentleman/lady like, a beer in one hand, a pistol grip shining just above the belt line using a dirty glove to slap a driver in the face at fuel pump challenging to the other duel because of wait or some baboon taking a 30 minute break.

Many shippers, receivers, restaurant's, truck stops, company's one works for.. You mame doesn't allow firearms or drinking.. It's law.. The. Choice is yours

When I was pulling stepdeck and got laid over I would park in the back row, pull out the barbecuer and invite everybody to use it and visit for a while, things never got crazy and we never got shut down. my best little bash was at Federal Way, WA. that truck stop had security and a gate, and they didn’t have a problem with a few drivers drinking a couple beers and visiting. this was probably early 90's so maybe someone ruined it for us, I don't know.

The little green book says under 392.5 no driver shall be under the influence of or have any measured detection or presence of alcohol while on duty, operating, or in physical control of a commercial vehicles. Physical control meaning by the definition of law is to be on or in a vehicle. That seems pretty clear cut to me.

I said that to say this. I think I'm the first person to ask fmcsa directly about beer in the sleeper. I called the virginia state police and asked the sergeant specifically if I can drink in my sleeper. His answer was yes during a 34 and no on a 10 hour break under a load. If you are working on a load you cannot drink period. 34 do it in the sleeper and stay away from front. Period. Just call and ask your respective state they were more than happy to tell me and now I know
