Running over your axle ratings isn't recommended, but most one tons are over. Not much you can do but keep a close eye on things.
DOT go by tire ratings for the most part if thats what your worried about. -
I thought dot goes nuts about axle ratings?

Just found out last night that aam (axle manuf.)rates my axle at 10k. Trying to get supporting documents so I can show if needed.

Talked to a dot officer and could not get a strait answer on if they go by tire capacity, door sticker, or the actual axle manufactures rating. Go figure.
