You do not adjust the clutch.
If it needs it you need your shop to adjust it.ralin10 Thanks this. -
With your brakes release brakes chock the wheels tighten slack adjusters all the way back off 1/4 turn. The clutch you need to remove the inspection plate on the bottom of the trans, there will be an adjustment bolt, may have to turn the motor to get to it. Have some one depress the clutch and adjust counterclockwise to desired clutch feel.

Unable to turn clutch adjustment bolt. Any pointers? I've had it explained to me, but my first time to do the adjustment myself.
Thanks in advance for your help. -
there should be some type of lock, either a plate with a bolt or you have to push the adjusting bolt in, as mentioned the clutch pedal has to be depressed to turn the pressure ring (via the adjusting bolt) the recommended procedure is to set the linkage so that the clutch brake is tight with the pedal just off the floor, then set the pressure ring to give 1/2 to 9/16 space between the release bearing brake surface and the brake disc. this should give you at least 1 1/2" of pedal free travel (not that pedal travel is an indicator)
If the truck has auto slacks you should not have to adjust them, in fact if you do need to adjust auto slacks they need repair or replacement.tmslogistics Thanks this. -
And remember the most important thing, grease is cheap, use it regularly.
-
This is incorrect, you turn the adjuster clockwise to adjust it. Says so right on the clutch.

A 2005 truck should have auto slacks and not need adjusting. Depending upon the make there are different procedures for making adjustments. Old thread but the advice still applies.
-
auto slacks don't always work properly.
-
Exactly..... They require a full brake application or close to it to get them to adjust. Nothing is truly maintenance free, and brakes are the last thing I'd trust to auto adjust with-out regular checking. The Man said Ride Thanks this.
