    I just asked to be home that day and took a personal day. Both times since being summoned i didn't have to go in. They make you call a number after 5 PM the day before to tell you if you have to report. PITA.

    Sometimes that depends on which state and which court.

    I've had to sit for several days at the courthouse for them not to pick me and other times I've had to just call. I've got called 3 times since turning 18 (one of those I got rescheduled).

    so far never have been called in for jury duty only 21 years old but now that i'll be trucking they decided it be the perfect time.

    first time i got summoned i had been away from home for a extended period of time the summons came in the mail and i did not get it and open it till after the date. oops. nothing happened. the next time i got had it in hand within enough time to make arrangements to be there was not going to push my luck by even asking to be excused.
