I think 8 mpg is great fuel mileage. Granted they were sold on something a little better than that. And they could have had it from just about any brand new EPA compliant truck or even a normal glider for about $70,000 less, i'm guessing now probably $125,000 less counting downtime, etc. Could have had 2 trucks getting 8 mpg!

    Ok I got an idea...

why don't you maintain your own decent customer base....run at a rate that makes money...provide consistant proffessional service....stay in your freight lanes....agree upon a reasonable floating fuel surcharge....so in reality you're barely payin for fuel?
Oh yeah that would make too much sence....and of course would never work....
Makes more sence to keep spending $$$$$on hi dollar new equipment to save 10% on fuel.....and then cut rates to gain new buisness to pay for it all....
    yeah I know I'm too old...too last century&I just don't understand....

KR was holding court in the PP booth, but I didn't even pause to listen (after my nest class got out I only had 2 hours to walk the booths -- have a load in the am). Bruce was there too, but he was at the opposite end of the booth surrounded by people wearing PP gear.

Must have missed the micoblue booth...

Why not do that AND try to get good mileage if the ROI pencils out?

Rates and costs are not mutually exclusive -- you can (and should) work on both...

Rollin Coal....youre absolutely right & every nickle counts.....i jus don't understand getting rid of good workin equipment and spending a ton of $$for a small boost in fuel economy w/everything else remaining constant...and the reality is you can most of the same benefits by takin your foot out of it...

That's not shabby MPG, way more than any truck I ever had got bobtail.

And it's their page, I'd like to know as much as anyone else what else was discovered in the tear down of that motor, but if they don't want to have their page be filled with the pro and con PP & KR folks, that's their business. There will be plenty of repercussions from this even if they never say a word. I can all but promise that MicroBlue won't trust Bruce any further than they can throw him, from this point forward. And more than a few more people know now that PP isn't exactly going to stand behind you if have issues.

So what became of the APU that KR used to talk about? All the current ones on the market were crap and he was going to design a much better one. I don't listen to his show much and didn't hear what became of that great idea he was about to hatch.

No, that guy was insulting, although much of what he said was true. There are plenty of posters who are critical. 15.3 is almost 20% increase from before.

You know, I just had an idea after reading this. I think I'm gonna microblue my tripac, maybe install a FASS, definitely a turbo 3000, and probably some airtabs. It'll be so efficient it'll actually return fuel to my tanks.... This way I won't ever actually have to haul any freight. I can just sit at the truckstop and make money. :biggrin_2558:
