These responses make it appear as if the interviewee (that's the guy who's looking for work) is actually in the boss's seat, directing the interview. Well, good luck with that idea. You get three questions before the interviewer (that's the guy who is looking for a driver) loses interest in you. Make them good.
PS @ Prairie Boy: You know better than "Don't bother asking if he's lying. If his lips are moving, you already know he is."![]()

Disagree. In this market (Ontario) you are in the bosses chair if you are a driver. It may not be the case out west where you are, with the oil market collapse and a large pool of drivers looking for work. And if you don't ask the questions before you climb on board, then you have nobody to blame but yourself after. I would say if the perspective employer loses interest in you after 3 questions, then that is an employer trying to hide how poor his company is.

I didn't see what I perceive to be the most important question, above all others: "Are you willing to put that in writing?"
Talk is cheap; lies are expensive. If they'll make promises but no commitments, you'll have your answers.bartley Thanks this. -
You're right, heard alot of things that were never in writing, but then had alot of stuff in the "Employees Handbook" that were ignored too. To quote Agent Mulder, "Trust no-one."

My favorite question to ask is "If I were to ask a random 50 of your employees what the biggest problem with this company is, what would they be most likely to say?"
bartley Thanks this.
