I second that, spot on----rotax74 Thanks this. -
We get paid drop and hook fees on the OTR/PTP division, each drop of a loaded trailer gets u $15., every pickup of a loaded trailer gets u $15. That's also considered freight exchanges=F/E -
Ok. So 60k a year out of leesport. Is it possible to earn more?
-
rotax74 would be the one to listen to tonight for sure, I am out of Tampa fl, last yr my w-2 was 68,500 not counting 3/4 of a year of profit sharing which is due in April which will be about $3000, to the 401K, so that equals about 71,500 for the year and it includes all bonus's for the year and referral's. So yes, when I started 2 years ago they told me $60,000--I run mostly the Southeast.

LTL out of Leesport WILL hone your driving skills. Many small plazas and big city deliveries. It seems scary but is manageable, just need to TAKE YOUR TIME until you get the hang of it and then always be patient. Leesport drivers can/will work out of several remote yards... Jamestown & Syracuse NY, Holland MA, Oakdale, PA as well as hauling out of Leesport. Most times you haul your 1st load out of Leesport and then deadhead to a remote yard for your next load. Typical week is leaving Sunday evening and getting in Friday evening. Sometimes can get home during the week but most weeks is 5 nights in the truck. Current openings are LTL regional in sleepers. Day cabs are local (mostly PA, MD, DE, DC & NJ.) First year in LTL for a newer driver should be $65-$70K. By year 2, you should be in the $80's. Be glad to answer any specific questions. Feel free to PM me.

got in Friday midday and heading back out sunday. looks like they've turned me around to a sunday/Friday schedule for awhile. going to have to work on changing that. the week starts on short trips and late night running leaving sunday out of advance. even so, march came in strong will post the march numbers following.
2758 and 21 d/h for the week. came out with an odd number because I had a 2 stop pickup Thursday. the extra drops will make up for the short miles. being in leesport midweek didn't help that number any either.
got to go pick up my truck from the shop when I got in Friday so i'll be back in it tomorrow. hate being in the loaner. none of them are bad trucks but it just isn't mine......not to mention all the stuff I had to move from one truck to another just to have the bare minimum stuff to run and be prepared for whatever I might need lol
shop manager told me on the way over to get mine that I was on the list for a new one. they just put in an order for a batch of new kw's for advance. lead time on them is 2-3 months so should be no longer than that i'll be handing my Volvo off to a new guy coming in and getting a new one. that first year is coming on fast it's flown by that's for sure.
planned out for the railyard in Atlanta for sunday and then run late sunday night with something out of there. repeat of last sunday. at least on sunday traffic isn't quite as bad going in at 1800.
one note about the sam's in charlotte if you don't know......if you can't find an empty there that warehouse next door down the street is also their operation and they keep empties on the far side of the building if the lot is full at 1911 continental. been going in there for 4 years now didn't know that. it's at the optimus/optima logistics. from sams go out the gate to the right in the next gate to the right all the way to the far end of the building. I was looking for 3 empties they said was there and couldn't find them and asked the yard guy and he sent me over to the other building and there they were.ONESHOT1997 Thanks this. -
march numbers were strong. miles were up but overall pay/mile was down a little but that's solely due to having some longer runs and fewer drops.
13876 paid on 14341 actual for a variance of 3.3% on 4.5 weeks for the month
average for the month is 3083.5 / week
average length of haul was 458 miles
average pay per mile all inclusive was .486 which is down a little but due solely to some longer runs and fewer d/h for the month. it makes a big difference.
6 relays
14 backhauls
8 transfers
avg weight was 17038
5 live loads with an average time on dock of 1.25hrs all OSB loads
the greater variance for the month over previous months was on me and due to going off route to get to the closest scale on a few loads and the week I spent in leesport running a slightly longer route versus running through towns and traffic on the northeast trips.....still 3.3% is nothing to complain about it's much better than you're going to get most anywhere else.Shaggy Thanks this. -
I'll get my numbers up later, just got in, Dispatched out for Longboard GA for Monday.
Traffic was hell on 95 in SC and 75 North of Tampa, still getting a high number of out of staters coming in, and a poop load of snow birds leaving as normal-seems more people are on vacation this year than other years for sure this year.
What happened to our Safety Director, he was gone as of 04-01-2015?
Anyone one know what happened? -
who? kevin?
first I've heard about that.
