Being on the extra board can be a challenge. But in any LTL Linehaul operation that is where your going until you get enough time in to get a bid. At YRC and UPS I've run the extra board and still run the extra board. With YRC I worked everyday getting close to my 70. UPS is the same deal (work 600 but they do have some slow times. One thing that is nice about the LTL extra boards are you will be seeing a different terminal each day so the boring factor is eliminated.

i liked running the extra board when i did ltl cause most of the extra board stuff was 2nd day freight so no one cared when ya got there ...extra board was almost a gaurentee for me that id be going to dallas or houston terminals which meant a break from nasty winter weather in nebr. and the witch i was married to lol .

that's interesting, my terminal is all liftgates and pallet jacks. we don't ramp at all. (big reason I wanted the job). MBM is a STRANGE company, it's like every terminal is a totally different company.

That's how I think of it. Once that trailer is unloaded I can go home even if home is a 4hr drive back in the truck. Plus having co driver helps to only think of it as 700 cases if you have 1400. goes by way faster if you can have someone stack a bunch of piles you can just scoop up with the cart instead of doing one pile at a time, know what I mean? What type of 2 wheeler was it, we use mag-liners

I put up with linehaul a few years. Now I just do an 8 hour turn. No work involved. $80 grand. Gravy
