I had been to and through Chesterfield a few times, when my former employer was on Rte 60 (Midlothian TrnPk) and I can indeed remember many shopping malls along the way. You may want to ask a store manager for permission of course, or (I cannot remember a business park right now) you may be able to park inside of there. Remember however, if your husband parks on any property that the business is closed, someone still owns the land, and can have the rig towed away. I have never really seen that happen, but it can, if the owner finds damages on the property and knows or assumes it from truck parking.

You can even try some of the trucking companies that might still be on Midlothian, like the old Overnite terminal (may be UPS now), where Celadon used to be (just before Overnite, across the street), there was even a company named Youngblood there as well at an intersection about 1/2 mile before Overnite, that always floods out in heavy rains, I think CVS is at the corner?

Like TNMT said in his post, check with the local authorities about city ordinances. Many cities do not allow overnight parking for semi's in neighborhoods, including bobtailers. It is always good to check even though it may not be posted. It doesn't hurt to check with someone you may know associated with a large enough private property or a church parking lot at a church that you or a friend maybe attend. Also, does your other half's company allow the truck to be parked unsecured?
