I will answer a couple of questions I saw on the board i am working for eagle. While it appears you can book your own freight it has to be a broker on a short list that they have. So technically you can get loads off DAT or wherever as long as the broker is approved by eagle. I have used Ch or coyote if they dont find me anything good. They are the most disorganized people I have ever met. last week I let them book all my loads I took home 296 dollars working seven days. I was delivering on Saturday called on thursday ask if the were planning to load me saturday the response was " I am really busy if you can find something you better grab it" I did. but as far as they knew i was still sitting all weekend. No return call on a lumper no one to call for any emergency after hours on weekend. you do have all the freedom you could want though they might turn out ok but for me they are taking money for every little thing they can think of

 

Thanks you for the honest account. The two Eagle drivers I've been in contact with tell me the same thing. They also stress to never ever let dispatch find you loads. They are too busy and dont know/care about your minimum dollar amount you will accept to run a load. The approved broker list is growing weekly though, I will give them that. They are trying to expand the broker network. Currently, there are 30 or so approved brokers.

 

What are some of the "extra" fees they deduct? I'm talking about the ones they don't tell you about during the recruiting process.

 

That's actually disappointing ... only 65% ... should be over 70%.

 

Ok John have to ask ,how many loads did you do and what's the miles you ran? I'm not believing that your letting them book ur loads for you as so many has said you can book your own or have them help in finding you loads. Are you not in the lane that your need to be? I can understand everyone has a bad week every now and then, I'm just curious in knowing reasoning In such a bad week.

 

And also your paid 75 % of what the load pays. But if your late it goes to 65. In which I don't agree with ,but that there rules.

 

Hey where are you dispatched out of? that small list that you are referring to just got bigger, I have the latest list of about 30 brokers. Do you have a reefer or van?

How do they prefer to communicate and dispatch u? Qualcomm? Calls,text email.....does he or she tell u find your own load or do they find for u? Seems rates are low? Does he tell u to just trust him to find freight?
