I would agree with posters above, who said "use English". I do not have CB yet(well, I do, but I do not installed it yet), as I understand there are not enough users to separate them by language. If there is some data or reason to do it, I am not aware of it. I would prefer info on one channel from drivers regardless of their native language, imagine there was hazard warning on channel for English, Spanish, Russian speaking drivers and you speak Chinese and was listening "your" channel.
If by doing it you would like to pull more drivers to CB or other ways of communication, hoping later on they will move to common channel(19), it may be good idea, I agree. -
Thanks for your input but methinks you are missing the point here!
Point 1 - Many Foreign drivers here in the USA, either are NOT using a CB, have no plans of purchasing a CB and, the ones that do have a CB, simply do not turn it on as they feel it is not needed.
Point 2 - Many "NEW" drivers are either not being told anything about the importance of having and using a CB because their "Trainer" was not told or the "Trainer" just outright hates CB radio.
Point 3 - Many female drivers are discouraged from getting a CB by their loved one(s) or the "Trainer" type mentioned above.
Point 4 - ALL OF THE ABOVE (to include some Veteran drivers) are culprits of serious misdeeds out on the road and on top of this, are totally oblivious to what is going on around them (blown rear inner dual, smoking brakes, smoke coming out of trailer doors, all trailer lights out at night etc.)
My goal is to encourage this LOT to at least consider the CB radio and in doing, try to bring some organization or esprit de corp amongst those foreign national drivers on the 11 meter band, AND, might I add, also raise the awareness of ham radio and its hundreds of uses. Many drivers (myself included) monitor multiple bands such as CB, HF & Vhf/Uhf ham bands, plus listen in on a digital police scanner simultaneously. There is so much going on around us at any given time day or night.
Last .........................................................................
I would much rather have 100 "NEW" CB radio users (from various countries) who have decided to follow this chart; who also happen to be traveling North, South, East or West; be able to tell their countrymen or women, that such and such danger is present. "I would think that one of them, having common sense, would also flip it up or down to channel 19 and give the same warning in English"! You can turn the knob you know!!!!!!

Well, I don't really care to listen to what I can't understand but just ignore or squelch it out. Unless I am running with someone, then I just walk on top. Why? Because 99.999 percent of the time, I can.
semi retired semi driver Thanks this. -
You mean that there may be nothing wrong with my new radio? I thought I had bought the spanish version and was going to take it back... LOL Literally installed it this morning and all I heard on it for hours around Missoula was spanish.

Just figured I would give this a refresher! Any Spanish speaking drivers (in SE/ SW States) and any Russian drivers on this forum that can give me the name (and editors tel#) of the Russian and Polish Trucker Magazines? They can be found in the magazine racks in some smaller Truck Stops up North (IL, OH and NJ). Aim High -
Anyway, aimhigh!
